Pride and Prejudice by Austin – I read it every year.

Araminta Station by Jack Vance to take me away from my lonliness, starvation and impending death.

Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neal Hurston is the first tearjerker that came to mind. The Color Purple by Alice Walker, The Good Earth by Pearl Buck – there are so many that have made me cry.
5. One book that made you laugh.
Six Of One by Rita Mae Brown
6. One book you wish had been written.
Another in either Sarah Shankman’s or Anne George’s series.

I’m re-reading The Old Wine Sellers by Martha Grimes.

1. LADY, I’M BACK! Thanks for your notes of concern/encouragement/dripping sarcasm. Love that.
2. A Wrinkle in Time is one of my all time favorite books. Good lord, it kept me on the edge of my 8-year-old seat. That and A Bridge To Terebithia were real landmarks to my childhood.
I read A Tale of Two Cities and Siddartha every year. It’s nice to have books to call home like that. Sid changed my life. Layer by layer, that book is an onion of eye-openers and an incredible philosophy lesson.

‘Bout time! You were missed, missy! I watched “A Wrinkle” as a made for TV movie a couple of years ago and I loved it. I got that magical feeling back.

I never read, “Where The Sidewalk Ends” -I’m not beyond reading it now. I love to recapture that “kid” feeling.

I don’t remember reading it (I’m sure it was assigned to me at some point. I’m reading what I consider classics this fall. I just started, “Catcher In The Rye” and it feels just like the first time. I remembered exactly how I felt the first time. (I had to look up the grippe.)

As for not liking question 7, you have clearly never read “Captains Glory” by William Shatner, to be honest, neither have I, only a few pages in a book shop due to initial disbelief.

I know that Anne George has died – I keep hoping that a “missing” novel will turn up. I can’t find anything on Sarah Shankman. They both write with such humor and grace – I’m not ready!
